Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center (BRAAC) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian center that provides education and services for children and families affected by autism and unique learning challenges, such as Learning Disabilities.

Founded in June 2009 through a merger between two well established programs whose missions were the similar.

Provide services to children in the Roanoke Valley and Lexington area who struggle to learn and succeed in typical environments.

As the merger of The Achievement Center and the Blue Ridge Autism Centers’ Board of Directors occurred, a full day, year-round school program of intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and multi-sensory approaches to learning, evolved.

Please come visit us and see our intensive programs implemented with a variety of unique learning techniques!

BRAAC is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

BRAAC is proud to be, first and foremost, a training center in the Roanoke, Lynchburg and Buena Vista areas for children and educational staff alike.

BRAAC is funded through private donations, grants, tuition and fees.

As always, monetary donations are of great need and are appreciated, however, we can also use in-kind donations.  Please check out our fundraisers, donation and wish list pages. Please know that since we are non-profit 501 c(3), all donations are eligible for a tax donation.

BRAAC staff is highly qualified and the center continues to grant opportunities to further employees’ education.

Faculty and staff at BRAAC have attended extensive training for ABA and/or other sessions of training in behavioral approaches to the treatment of autism. There are consistent processes for supervision, observation and support through team meetings and individual supervision by the program consultants and/or the BRAAC program director.

BRAAC staff will be trained and supervised in the implementation of academic programs for students with learning disabilities by using direct instruction and research based curriculum that has been proven effective for students with learning disabilities.

BRAAC wins $10,000 from Freedom First and WSLS-10.
